Oscar Romero (He/Him)

Born in El Salvador and raised in California, Oscar studied under David Hardy at The School of Classical Realism in Oakland, CA. Painting in a representational style, mainly with oil paints on canvas or wood panels, his marks sometimes suggest and sometimes declare, as he tries to build a bridge between his work and the viewer, allowing them to fill the space between what he paints and what they see. Some influences include artists such Jerome Witkin and Käethe Kollwitz. Recently he is exploring story adaptation in the comic book medium through his self-published comic, Dreadful Analekta, a horror/suspense series released July 2021. He is also working on the upcoming series Tome with writer Perry Crowe. Oscar lives in Sacramento, CA.
